Best Date Night Restaurants in Tacoma, WA

In this blog post we will share our secret list of the best date night restaurants in Tacoma, WA! Read on for where to take your special someone for a fun night!

  1. Over the Moon Cafe:

A quaint and charming hole-in-the-wall located in Opera Alley in Downtown Tacoma. This scratch kitchen, boutique-style restaurant is warm and intimate, with low lighting, and eclectic but comfy aesthetic. With an emphasis on French and Italian cuisine, making comfort food, chic is what this cafe does best. Whether it’s a first date or an anniversary dinner, Over the Moon will have you seeing stars. Open Tuesday- Saturday, 4:30-8:30pm.

  2. Matador:

Nestled at the north end of Pacific Ave, Matador is a moody choice for date night.  Vaulted ceilings, fire pits, and twisted metal fixtures create a gothic yet romantic atmosphere. With Mexican inspired cuisine, craft cocktails, and lively happy hour from 4 to 6, the Matador remains a staple of Tacoma's culinary scene, and an easy choice for date night. Give yourself a little extra time before your reservation as parking can be a bit tricky during the dinner hours. Open 11-midnight during the week, 1am on weekends.

  3. En Rama:

House made pasta and Spanish small plates makes En Rama a food-lovers paradise. A small restaurant of 20 tables makes for an intimate dining experience with a cozy interior and a large-well lit patio for the warmer months. Cocktails and charcuterie are staple starters, and you must try their homemade fresh pasta! This is a spot you could spend hours at sampling every dish and enjoying the cool vibes. We recommend making a reservation! Open 4-10pm Tuesday- Saturday.

  4. Wooden City:

A trendy and casual environment envelopes you at Wooden City. With warm woods, metals and brick, Tacoma’s industrial vibe lives strong within the walls of this inviting, open-air restaurant. They offer a great selection of beer, wine and spirits and a small well curated menu. With sharing plates and burgers filling out the food options, the wood-fired pizza is the main draw, although my personal favorite is their burger! Open 4-10pm during the week, 10:30pm on weekends.

  5. Boom Boom Room:

A dark and velvety atmosphere makes this mid-century craft cocktail lounge a rather romantic date spot. A dinner menu that caters to shareable and small plates is never lacking, with staple entrees and house-made desserts. If you're looking for a dim and intimate, yet playful environment for you and someone special, Boom Boom Room has exactly what you need. Open 4-10pm during the week, midnight on weekends and closed on Mondays!
