Tacoma Realtor Laura Anderson: 10 Things You Might not Know About Me
1. I’m a Realtor and I absolutely love it. I thought I was a person who would never be able to find a career that I liked and yet the minute I began the studies to get my license, real estate just felt right. Most realtors sell 3 houses per year, my first year I sold 22 and haven’t looked back since!
2. In 2016 my partner Alex and I lived in Vietnam for 3 months and during that time we bought a moped and drove the equivalent of Seattle to San Francisco through Vietnam’s mountains. It was the most insane thing I’ve ever done, and probably the coolest as well. I love to travel and try to explore a new country every year!
3. I always have dog hair on my clothes. Lois, our Husky/German Shepherd mix has hairs that are half black and half white so no matter what I wear they show up. She is the love of my life and the craziest, happiest being I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
4. I’m a fitness coach at Vie Athletics. This gym came into my life when I didn’t even realize how much I needed it. To be a part of a community of women who lift each other up (as we lift heavy things) brings me so much joy and strength.
5. At one point in my life I took a hiking class at TCC and failed it (did you even know that was possible?) Now, hiking is one of my favorite things in the world. I’ve got an amazing crew of humans that I get to explore the hills of Washington with and love sunset hikes!
6. I’m an E-RYT yoga teacher, which means I’ve taught over 1000 yoga classes in the years that that was my career! I’ve taught in Vietnam, Spain, Mexico, Maui and Washington and have so much appreciation for my yoga communities. Although I don’t teach as often as I used to, I still love sharing my love of the practice.
7. I have the coolest family, and they instilled a love of singing and dancing in me at a young age. We grew up watching the Sound of Music and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies. I did ballet when I was younger and am currently super into salsa dancing.
8. I did the choreography for Silas High Schools Show Choir for over 10 years. Teaching dance to a group of 20 kids was one of the most rewarding things I’ve done and I miss it so much.
9. In my younger years, I was a bit of a cynic about relationships. Then I met Alex. We’ve been together for 14 years and I’m continually a bit surprised that we work so well together. Being in a relationship with him has taught me how to love and be loved.
10. I have a scar above my lip on the left side… a small reminder of why I’ve been sober for 15 years. So grateful to be in recovery and live this life that I never even imagined possible.
