Olympus Day Spa in Tacoma, WA: Everything you need to know!
In this blog post we will tell you everything you need to know about the Korean Lady Spa- Olympus, located in Tacoma, WA.
Olympus Day spa is a Korean women’s spa located in South Tacoma. The facilities are comprised of a check-in area, lounge area, room with hot and cold pools, steam sauna, dry sauna, salt rooms, spa services, tea cafe, korean restaurant and more.
Olympus Spa follows the Korean jjimjilbang tradition, which includes gender-segregated bathing and relaxation areas, this location is for women exclusively. The spa is easy to find and has a lot of available parking, as well as a parking lot security attendant. You enter the building into the check-in area. This is where you will purchase your day pass ($43) and can also book services. You’re then given a key to your locker, as well as a bathrobe, shower cap, and two towels. Your locker number has a coordinating shoe cubby which you’ll pass on your way to the locker room. The locker room has lockers, benches, a water machine, free lotion, q-tips and kleenex.
Included in the Day Pass is access to the:
Hydrotherapy baths – Hot whirlpools & Cold Plunge w/ waterfall
Mugwort Herbal Well
Steam & Herbal Dry Sauna
Infrared Ray heated rooms: Sea Salt, Sand & Charcoal, Mud & Jade
Lounge room, which has couches and magazines.
Some of the services they offer (not included in the day pass pricing) are:
Massage
Body scrubs
Body Moisturizing
Body Wraps
Skin care treatments such as facials, lash extensions etc. You can also book these ahead of time by calling (253) 588-3355.
The Tea Room is an additional charge of $9 and in it you can try an array of different teas! The restaurant is open until 7:30pm and takes their last order at 7pm, so get in there early. My personal favorite things to order are the steamed dumplings and the hot stone pot bibimbap. Before coming here, I didn’t realize how enjoyable it was to eat korean food while wearing a bathroom and hair cap.
Olympus Spa is a place that you could spend an entire day at.
My perfect day at the spa would be the following: Come in the morning. Spend time hopping between the hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna. Eat lunch at the restaurant. Back into the hot tubs. Get a massage, then read a book in one of the heated rooms. Back to the sauna and cold plunge to finish out my day, for as long as desired. I cannot recommend this place enough, it is definitely one of Tacomas hidden gems.
