The Best Tacoma Coffee Shops

BLUEBEARD COFFEE ROASTERS

Sitting right on 6th avenue, Bluebeard is a Tacoma staple. The modern industrial interior in understated and in my opinion, perfect. The Bluebeard crew roasts all of their own beans in house, so you know what you're sipping is fresh with just about everything being roasted within the week (or day sometimes!). They of course have excellent coffee, with ample seating indoors, perfect for watching the roasters fire up the next batch or people watch the passerby’s on 6th avenue.

VALHALLA COFFEE

Sitting across 6th avenue from Northwest Float Center and Expand Yoga is Valhalla Coffee. Valhalla is also an in house roaster, so you know all of their coffee was roasted right here in Tacoma. Their bean selection isn't regularly switched up, but it's reliably great. One thing to note, drip coffee isn't kept warm in a pot all day here, which is great because that means it’s always made fresh to order with a classic pour over.

OLYMPIA COFFEE

Olympia coffee lives on N 26th & Proctor street in North Tacoma. They’re dedicated to roasting some of the best coffees in the world, all in their HQ 30 minutes south in Olympia. This little shop is a perfect hang out spot and the bench out front is prime for summer to sit, sip and people watch. Olympia’s beans are world class with rotating selections roasted in small batches all year. If you’ve never been to the area it is located in the heart of Tacoma’s Proctor Neighborhood, so it’s a great spot to grab your coffee, and check out the local shops and restaurants.

MANIFESTO COFFEE

Manifesto is an awesome Tacoma coffee roaster and coffee shop that sits right on S 11th street & MLK in the hilltop neighborhood. They’ve got excellent Fair Trade Organic single origin coffee, and they roast it all in house. The shop itself has a decent amount of seating and is a great spot to meet up with friends or get some work done.
